The Indonesian Government, specifically the Ministry of
National Education (MoNE), provides several scholarship schemes for
Indonesian lecturers to enable them to study abroad. On this page you
will find information on several of these programs.
Currently you can download the information on application procedures and guidelines of following three programs:1. The annual 50 co-shared Phd scholarships between Indonesia and the Netherlands
This programme is aimed at (candidate) lectures of Indonesian state and private universities. One of the requirements to be eligible is that the Indonesian candidate is nominated by a Dutch professor and that the Dutch Higher Education Institution will finance the 4th year of the PhD. 2. The regular channel for PhD scholarships for lecturers (DIKTI scholarships)
This programme is aimed at (candidate) lectures of Indonesian state and private universities. The funding for PhD scholarships is maximum three years, application and selection is processed by the Ministry of National Education. 3. The co-shared Joint Research grant program
This programme is aimed at increasing academic publications and number of PhD candidates. The Indonesian and Dutch Higher Education Institution that preferably already have an institutionalised relationship through and MoU, can submit a joint research proposal to the Ministry of National Education. 4. Excellent Scholarship/Beasiswa Unggulan (ES/BU)
The Excellent Scholarship Program is aimed to provide education financial aid for education personnel and prospective lecturers in the higher education environment in Indonesia to enter graduate education programs (master and / or doctorate degree) at home or abroad. Scholarships are awarded to the candidate who is a freshman for a maximum of 24 months for a master’s degree and 36 months for the doctoral program. Worldbank grants for bureaucratic reform
Scholarship Program for Strengthening the Reforming Institutions (SPIRIT)
This is a scholarship scheme financed by the World Bank in the framework of Public Sector Capacity Development called Scholarship Program for Strengthening the Reforming Institutions (SPIRIT). It is aimed at civil servants of 11 Indonesian ministries and institutions that will undergo bureacratic reform. The program’s objective is to increase the technical and managerial skills of civil servants in the participating agencies. The total amount reserved for degree and non degree scholarships is 100 million US$.More information in: English
